Formed in 2023, this all-star ensemble is blazing a trail across California, reviving the high-energy spirit of the legendary High Sierra Jazz Band. With powerhouse performers like Howard Miyata, Marc Caparone, and Paul Reid, the band features Clancy Hayes-inspired vocals from drummer Gareth Price, dazzling piano work by Brian Holland, the smooth vocals of Katie Cavera, and the incredible Nathan Tokunaga on reeds. If you love hot, high-octane trad jazz—this is the show you don’t want to miss!
Intermission Band: The Decomposing Brass Quintet
Brass brilliance takes center stage during intermission with the Decomposing Brass Quintet, a spin-off from the Friendly Neighborhood Big Band. Expect jazz standards, pop favorites, Broadway hits, and cinematic themes performed with flair by some of the Central Coast’s top brass talent. These musicians have played with everyone from the Starlight Dreamband to the Trumpet Alliance of Cuesta College.

For over four decades, the Basin Street Regulars have been promoting live jazz concerts and dance events, including the annual Jubilee by the Sea now Jazz Jubilee Central Coast. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
Membership brings quality musicians to perform live music on the Central Coast at monthly concerts, helps support an annual jazz festival and provides scholarships for young musicians at Jazz Summer Camps.
